Game Recaps and Highlights

Mexico 2, Caribbean 0

In a standout performance, Mexico’s Antonio Guerrero and Raul Hernandez Jr. delivered a combined no-hitter, securing a 2-0 victory over the Caribbean team from Santa Cruz, Aruba. Guerrero was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings and allowing just three walks. Hernandez closed out the game with two strikeouts in the final inning.

Mexico’s offense was efficient but not overpowering. The team broke the scoreless tie in the second inning when Ulises Ortiz singled, scored on a groundout, and benefited from two wild pitches. They added their second run in the fifth inning when Guerrero, who had reached base via a hit-by-pitch, crossed home plate.

Aruba’s Naivmar Angela also had an impressive outing, giving up only one earned run and two hits over five innings while striking out three.

With the win, Mexico advances to face Latin America (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) in their next game. Aruba will play an elimination game against the loser of the matchup between Cuba (Villa Clara) and Europe-Africa (Brno, Czech Republic).
